Natural Dehydrated Citrus Wheel Garnishes

I have special memories of the time I was introduced to dried citrus garnishes. My Mom and I went on a weekend getaway to a Resort and Spa in Sedona Arizona. There was an outdoor restaurant patio with views of the Red Rocks and on the bar was the most beautiful assortment of dried citrus slices.  
These garnishes are a fun way to add a touch of flair to your favorite cocktails, sodas or tea. Easy to make, aromatic and eye catching they will be your go-to garnish for all of your drinks.

You will need:

Whole unpeeled citrus, I use lemons limes, navel and blood oranges

Mandolin Slicer to get slices thin and even

Paper towels to pat fruit dry

Parchment paper

To make using a food dehydrator:

Wash the fruit thoroughly and let dry

Cut the slices to ¼ inch thickness

Pat slices dry with a towel

Place on racks

Dehydrate according to your dehydrator manufactures instructions

To Make in the oven:

Wash the fruit thoroughly and let dry

Cut the slices to ¼ inch thickness

Pat slices dry with a towel

Place slices on baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Bake at 200° for about 6 hours rotating the pans and flipping the citrus every hour

Once completely done store in airtight glass containers.
